Heartburn Diet Recipe #27 – No-Fuss Pear Shortcakes

Pears are a traditional holiday fruit, and you can use fresh or canned pears. Serve this delicious dessert all year long and just change the fruit to peaches, strawberries or whatever strikes your fancy. Check the produce section for the dessert shells.

NO-FUSS PEAR SHORTCAKES
Makes 4 servings
1 16-ounce can sliced pears packed in juice, drained
½ teaspoon almond extract
4 prepared sponge cake shells
Frozen, thawed nondairy whipped topping and sliced almonds, for garnish

In a small bowl combine the pears and almond extract. Cover and chill until ready to serve.

Spoon the pears into the shells. Garnish with the whipped topping and almonds.
